GFWC Wewahitchka Woman's Club announces 2016 HOBY Leadership Winner
The GFWC Wewahitchka Woman's Club announced their selected delegate from Wewahitchka High School to attend the HOBY Leadership Conference in Tallahassee. This year's student is Savannah Harrison, who was selected for her leadership qualities, academic excellence, and exemplary citizenship and volunteer work. Savannah is the daughter of Sheriff Mike Harrison and Mrs. Lana Harrison.
With the sponsorship of the GFWC Wewahitchka Woman's Club, Savannah will be attending the HOBY: Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Conference in Tallahassee, along with other youth from across the state.
The HOBY mission is to inspire and develop youth to a life dedicated in leadership, service, and innovation. Founded in 1958 by Hugh O'Brian, HOBY has become one of the country's top youth leadership development organizations. During the week long conference, Savannah will participate in unique leadership training, service-learning, and motivation-building experiences.
The HOBY scholarship is one of many service and community projects the GFWC Wewahitchka Woman's Club is proud to sponsor. If you would like to learn more about the exciting programs and projects coming up this year, join us at our next meeting on Tuesday, March 8th, 2016, at 6PM central time at the Glad Tidings Church Fellowship Hall in Wewahitchka.
