GFWC Wewahitchka Woman's Club replaces tattered flags to honor our Veterans


February  27, 2017  Willard Watson and Tom Semmes boosters for GFWC Woman's Club raised the new flags and added a POW flag at the Veterans monument in Wewahitchka. Thanks to the City of Wewahitchka for supplying the new flags. 




          GFWC Wewahitchka Woman's Club holds Veterans Wreath Ceremony


      On Friday, November 11, 2016, Veterans Day, the GFWC Wewahitchka Woman's Club joined by local Veterans placed a Patriotic Wreath of Remembrance at the V of Flags in Wewahitchka as Olivia Taylor sang The National Anthem.  The Wreath was placed on the Veterans Monument to honor all Veterans, past and present, who have sacrificed their careers, their family life, and often times their own life to serve our country. 



     The V of Flags located on Highway 71 North in the City of Wewahitchka is a project that the Wewahitchka Woman's Club participated in, displaying the American Flag, the State of Florida flag,and five flags representing the five branches of the United States military.  



     The Wewahitchka Veterans Monument reads: "Sponsored by the GFWC Wewahitchka Woman's Club in partnership with the City of Wewahitchka and the Board of City Commissioners, we dedicate these flags in honor of all who have served. All gave some, some gave all."
